Akeredolu
Candidate inaugurates reconciliation committees
A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Owo, has urged the people to support their son, Rotimi Akeredolu to win the governorship election.
In a statement on behalf of the community, Dr. Segun Akinwale, said it is the turn of Ondo north to produce the governor.
He said Owo is the only area in that axis that has not been favoured since democracy started in the country in 1999.
Akinwale, who is a community leader explained: “Adebayo Adefarati came from Akoko, Olusegun Agagu emerged from Ikale, while the current governor, Segun Mimiko hails from Ondo. Our people should rally round an Owo man for equity after over three decades of Adekunle Ajasin’s exit.
“There is virtually no aspect of our lives that has not been adversely affected by a combination of factors. The clueless leaders who have been in leadership positions in the three tiers of government are responsible for the parlous state of our infrastructure,” he said.
He stressed the need for the right candidate to achieve judicious use of the state’s resources.
Akinwale said: “Akeredolu has the attributes of transparency and accountability which are the starting point for good governance.”
He described him as a grassroots politician who had served as Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in two successive administrations in the state.
Meanwhile, the APC candidate has inaugurated three reconciliation committees in each of the senatorial districts to bring back aggrieved members of the party.
One of the committees is headed by Dr. Tunji Abayomi, who was an aspirants in the party’s primary held in September. Other members of the committee are, Taofeek Abdulsalam, Akin Aibinuomo, Moyosola Oladunni, Dotun Owanikin, Foluso Babade and Femi Osedimbola.
A former senator from the central senatorial district, Ayo Akinyelure would head the second committee. He would be supported by Ademola Adegoroye, Gboyega Adedipe, Dr. Jibayo Adeyeye, Ayo Agbomuserin and Agboola Kelly.
The third committee is headed by Femi Agagu, a former Chief of Staff to the late former governor of the state, Dr. Olusegun Agagu. Those to work with him are, Oladunni Odu, Diran Iyantan, Yele Akinya, Oluyide Mekuleyi, Festus Adefiranye and POA Oyetan.
