Derry Flynn McCann, 28 was arrested after a 24-year-old woman reported being attacked in a park in Hackney, East London, in the early hours of January 13 as she walked home following a night out with friends.
She told police a man grabbed her and demanded cash before dragging her into bushes and raping her.
According to the Sun, McCann, from Hackney, was arrested and charged six days later.He had married on the day of the alleged attack and posted pictures of himself with his new wife on his public Facebook page.
Their ceremony took place at The Vestry in Bromley-by-Bow, East London.McCann appeared at Thames magistrates’ court on January 20 charged with four counts of rape and one of robbery against the same alleged victim.
He is not thought to have entered a plea.
McCann’s wife, who is heavily pregnant, declined to comment.
