Man accused of raping and killing a 10 year old girl & her grandparents jumps to his death in courthouse

An 'evil' man accused of raping and murdering a 10-year-old girl and killing her grandparents jumped to his death in a courthouse.

Robert Seman Jnr, 48, faced the death penalty for the murders of Corinne Gump, 10 and her grandparents William and Judith Schmidt who died in an arson attack.The blaze at their home in Youngstown, Ohio, in March 2015 happened just hours before Seman Jnr was about to go on trial for raping Corinne.


According to Daily Mirror, Seman Jnr was accused of having started the fire deliberately in a desperate bid to avoid the trial.Police said he was found with burn injuries and that two canisters of gas were also found in his home.

Despite overwhelming evidence against him, Seman Jnr had pleaded not guilty and was once again due to stand trial on Wednesday.

But after a final court hearing on Monday, a CCTV camera captured the moment he suddenly leapt from the fourth floor balcony in the courthouse to his death.

A reporter for the Youngstown Vindicator who witnessed the incident said a lawyer felt for a pulse but paramedics soon declared Seman Jnr dead at the scene.
